The BAM (Better Work Environment) course is Sweden's foundational occupational health and safety training program. Designed for Managers (Chefer), Supervisors, Safety Representatives (Skyddsombud), and Work Environment Representatives (Arbetsmiljöombud), this self-paced digital course delivers the knowledge required to navigate Swedish work environment laws and execute Systematic Work Environment Management (SAM) in practice.
Updated for the Swedish Work Environment Authority's (Arbetsmiljöverket) consolidated regulatory framework—encompassing AFS 2023:1, AFS 2023:2, and AFS 2023:10–12—this training equips your leadership with practical methods to handle physical, organizational, and psychosocial risks.

Module 1: The Swedish Work Environment Framework
Understand Arbetsmiljölagen (AML), the transition to the consolidated AFS 2023 structure, employer obligations, and inspection/sanction risks.
Module 2: Roles, Responsibilities, and Collaboration
Define legal duties, task allocation (uppgiftsfördelning), and joint collaboration (samverkan) between managers and safety reps.
Module 3: Systematic Work Environment Management (SAM) in Practice
Master the SAM cycle (Examine, Risk Assess, Act, Follow-up), create work environment policies, and handle incident investigations.
Module 4: Risk Assessment and Action Plans
Learn risk matrix evaluation, immediate vs. long-term hazard mitigation, and written action plan (handlingsplan) creation.
Module 5: Organizational and Social Work Environment (OSA)
Comply with AFS 2023:2 to mitigate unhealthy workload, manage working hours, and prevent victimisation and bullying.
Module 6: Physical Work Environment, Ergonomics, and Risk Regulations
Manage physical risks under AFS 2023:10–12, including ergonomic hazards, noise, chemicals, PPE, and workplace threats.
Assessment & Certification
Interactive e-learning modules with multiple-choice end-of-module knowledge checks (80% pass mark, unlimited retakes).
